Here’s how it works: - Thoughts: These are your interpretations or viewpoints about yourself, others, or the world. - Emotions: Your thoughts influence how you feel—whether it’s sadness, anxiety, or frustration—depending on how you interpret situations. - Behaviours: Your actions are shaped by these thoughts and emotions. For example, you might avoid social situations or procrastinate based on how you view things. CBT helps you become more aware of this cycle and, especially, your thoughts. By shifting unhelpful thinking patterns, you can create more positive emotions and behaviors.
